Cars of the Month 2001
George Marshall, an Asphalt Angels Member since May of this year, was chosen as car of the month.
George is the proud owner of a 1965 GTO, which he purchased about 1 ½ years ago. When George found the car it needed a lot of work, but he was up to the challenge. He started off by rebuilding the drive train and then set his sites on the body. The GTO needed new quarter panels and lots of bodywork. After it was completed George painted it the same color it was at purchase time. BLACK..
George has had fun with the car this season entering it in lots of shows and walking away with 4 trophies and a few plaques.
His future plans for the car are to redo the interior.
George isn't new to the “classic car bug”. In the past he has owned a 65' Chevelle Super Sport, a 72' Chevrolet Rally Sport and a 69' Corvette Convertible (I wouldn't have sold that one J )
George recently acquired a 54' Panel Truck that he is getting ready to start working on. Maybe we will see the 54' as well as the GTO at future shows.
